Abide Independent, Not Clinging to Anything
A Day Long Mindfulness Retreat
Sunday, May 10
The phrase "Abide independent, not clinging to anything" occurs in many places in the Sutta, the Buddha's eachings. It is one of many phrases used to describe the expeience of being fully awakened. But what does that mean?
In this retreat we will spend the morning practicing basic mindfulness to calm and focus the mind. Then in the aftrenoon we will explore the meaning of this phrase and other similar phrases found in the Sutta and see how they point to how we can deepen our practice and move in the direction of enlightenment.
This retreat will be a combination of sitting practice, walking practice, practice instructions and dhamma teachings. Everyone is welcome to attend.
