It seems that here I have drifted into realism of a sort. The Way leads up the hill, and through the gates. Adding real elements to the architectural, like trees and flower pots makes the whole piece more "human". This isn't an actual place, except in my mind.

This piece is also the beginning of my fascination with trees and golden domes, which will show up in many of the paintings done after this one.
